September 17, 1985: Blue Jays (92-53) at Red Sox (86-59)

Left fielder George Bell blasted a homerun and had 3 RBI as the smoking-hot Toronto Blue Jays beat the Boston Red Sox by a score of 4 to 2.

Bell was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine day at their team's expense. He smacked a three-run homer in the 1st inning, doubled in the 4th inning and laced a base-knock in the 6th inning. Both teams totaled 6 hits on the night.

The win was credited to Jimmy Key(20-8) who went 8 innings allowing 2 runs. Tom Henke earned the save, his 34th. Roger Clemens(15-11) was the losing pitcher.

Toronto won for the 9th straight time.
