September 17, 1985: Rangers (70-74) at Twins (64-82)

Frank Viola pitched a complete game and Kent Hrbek had 3 base hits and 2 RBI as the Minnesota Twins beat the Texas Rangers by a score of 6 to 1.

In the 2nd inning Minnesota went on top for good scoring 3 runs utilizing 5 base hits. Tim Teufel started the inning off right when he laced a one-base hit. Dave Engle was next and he laced a base-knock. Greg Gagne struck out, unable to help the rally. Ron Washington came up and he slapped a single to load the bases. One out later, Mickey Hatcher stepped up to the plate and he slapped a base-hit scoring a single run. Hrbek kept the rally going and doubled driving home another two teammates. That scoring would be all that was needed. Minnesota had a total of 15 hits for the game.

The win went to Viola(14-17) who allowed 1 run in the game. Jeff Russell(3-3) was the loser. He surrendered 3 runs and 10 hits in 6 innings.
