September 18, 1985: Astros (69-76) at Dodgers (88-58)

Bill Doran rocketed 2 homeruns and scored 3 times at DODGER STADIUM where the Houston Astros beat the Los Angeles Dodgers in 11 innings 6 to 4. 

The game was deadlocked at 4 after nine full innings. Finally, Houston prevailed in the 11th inning. After an out was recorded, Doran started the rally when he tripled. Craig Reynolds dug into the batters box next, but he struck out. Kevin Bass then lifted one out of the park for a two run home run. Houston rapped out 14 hits for the night. 

The winning pitcher was Jeff Calhoun(4-0) who allowed no runs in 1 inning. Calhoun got help from Jeff Heathcock who earned his 1st save. Carlos Diaz(1-3) absorbed the loss in relief. He gave up 2 runs and 3 hits in 2 innings. 

The Houston ballclub's record now stands at 69-76. With this loss, Los Angeles has a 6-4 record of late, 88-58 overall.
