September 18, 1985: Angels (61-84) at White Sox (71-73)

40,385 fans were treated to a fine game at COMISKEY PARK as only one run separated the combatants at game's end. The Chicago White Sox won by the slimmest of margins, 4 to 3. 

The game was deadlocked at 3 after nine full innings. Chicago won the hard fought contest in the 12th inning. Carlton Fisk reached on an error. Ron Kittle was next and he doubled resulting in an exciting win for Chicago and a wild post-game celebration by the home town fans. Chicago out-hit California for the game, 12 hits to 7. 
Dave Wehrmeister(2-1) went 2 and 2/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory. The losing pitcher was Luis Sanchez(2-4) in relief. He gave up 1 hit and no walks without retiring a batter.
