1985 World Series Game 5: Mets (3-2) at Blue Jays (2-3)

Sid Fernandez racked up an impressive total of 12 strikeouts as the New York Mets defeated the Toronto Blue Jays by a score of 3 to 2 at EXHIBITION STADIUM. 

The game was decided in the top of the 9th inning. Danny Heep drew a walk. After an out was recorded, Wally Backman came to bat and laced a one-base hit. Keith Hernandez then hit a sacrifice fly scoring the run. New York had a total of 10 hits for the game. 

The win was credited to Fernandez(1-0) who went the whole way allowing 2 runs. Doyle Alexander(1-1) suffered the loss.
