Season Game 2 (Reds 1-0 vs Expos 0-1)

Game 2 of the season featured the Expos vs the Reds. This game was a little different than game 1 as the Expos came out on top with a 5-2 win. Bill Gullickson was solid on the hill going 8.2 giving up 2 runs on 9 hits, walking 3, and striking out 1. Gullickson struggled to get the final and Jeff Reardon brought in to shut the door with 2 on. THe Expos started of the scoring in the 3rd inning, when Andre Dawson lead off the inning with a double and scored on a two out single by Tim Wallach. The Reds evened the score in the 5th When Ron Oester was safe on an error by first baseman Terry Francona, Bo Diaz and pitcher Jay Tibbs both Singled and Oester would score on an Eddie Milner Sac Fly. The Expos would make it 3-1 in the 6th on a Mike Fitzgerald 2 run Homer off of Tibbs. The Reds would cut the lead to one in the 7th when Bo Diaz scored on a Pete Rose single. The Expos put the game away for good in the 8th when they tacked on 2 more runs making the score 5-2. Mike Fitzgerald led the way for the Expos going 2-4 with a homer, 3 RBI, and 2 runs. Pete Rose led the way for the Reds going 1-3, 1 RBI, and 2 BB. Jay Tibbs was solid for the Reds despite the loss. He pitched 7 innings, gave 3 runs on 9 hits, walked 3, and struck out 1.
