April 13, 1985 Game 47: Tigers (2-1) at Royals (2-1)

Jack Morris and Bud Black were making their second starts of the season. Morris was looking to rebound after a rough outing against the Indians and Black was looking to continue the success he had against the Jays.

This one would turn into a pitchers dual, as the offenses would be stymied by these outstanding pitchers.

The Royals would get 1 in the 2nd. Morris would hit Motley, White would double and Motley would hold at 3rd. Sunberg would hit a slow roller between the mound and third and Morris would throw to first to get him and Motley would score. 1-0 Royals

The Tigers would get 1 in the 7th as Herndon would single and Parrish would score and we are tied at 1. They would get 1 more in the 8th to take the lead a Brookens single would score Melvin. Tigers lead 2-1

Morris would shut down the Royals in the 9th to secure the win.

The Final Score was 2-1 Tigers
