April 13, 1985 Game 46: Phillies (2-1) at Astros (1-3)


Shane Rawley pitched a gem at the Astrodome today and the Phillies teed off on Ron Mathis, scoring 7 runs in 4.2 innings.

The Astros got on the board first when Davis would hit his 3rd homer of the seaon and it is 1-0 Astros.

The Phillies would score 7 in the 5th to take a 7-1 lead. Virgil hits a solo HR. Stone singles scoring Rawley, A bases loaded 3 base error by Cruz would clear the bases. A Wilson single would score Corcoran, Virgil would triple, his second hit of the inning would score Wilson.

Rawley was the story of the night though. He would toss 8.2 innings of perfect baseball. Rawley gave up 2 hits. Both coming in the 1st with one out. He gave up a solo Home Run to Davis and a single to Phil Garner. After that he was lights out.
