April 18, 1985 Game 100: Red Sox (4-4) at Royals (4-3)

It was a milestone in the 1985 Replay.  It is game 100 and the Red Sox would start Oil Can Boyd and the Royals would start Bud Black.  I usually don't make it past game 100 so this is a major achievement,

In the 4th The Red Sox open the scoring.  Boggs singles, Easler singles with 2-outs and Armas walks to load the bases.  Buckner singles and Boggs scores and it is 1-0.  In the 5th the Red Sox make it 2-0.  Guiterrez doubles, Sullivan lays down a bunt and Guiterrez moves to 3rd.  Boggs hits a sharp grounder to Biancalana who can't handle it and commits an error and Guiterrez scores.

The Royals will get one back in the 6th,  Sundberg doubles, Biancalana lays down a bunt and beats it out for a single.  Wilson hits a SACFLY to Armas and Sundberg scores and its now 2-1.

The Red Sox score 2 more in the 8th.  Evans hits a solo homer and its 3-1.  Rice and Easler walk and Buckner doubles and Rice scores and now its 4-1

Boyd would work the 9th to get the CG and Earn his 2nd win of the season.

The Final Score 4-1 Red Sox
