April 21, 1985 Game 142: Twins (6-5) at Athletics (4-7)

The Twins and A's have split the first two at the Coliseum.  The Twins send John Butcher out to face off against Jose Rijo who has been very impressive so far.

The A's get 2 in the 1st  on a 2 run Home Run by Kingman and they are up 2-0.  They would add to their lead in the 2nd as Heath singles, Hill singles, Heath advances to 3rd.  Griffin bounces into a 4-3 FC and Heath scores to make it 3-0.

In the 3rd Lansford hits a homer to make it 4-0.  In the 5th Griffen singles and steals 2nd, Collins singles and Griffen scores.  Bocthe hits a solo shot and its now 5-0.  Meanwhile Rijo is rolling through the Twins offense.

In the 6th Hill hits a 2 run homer to make it 8-0 then in the 7th kingman hits his 2nd homer of the day and it is 9-0 A's.  Rijo finishes the 9th for the shutout and gets his 2nd win of the season.
