April 21, 1985 Game 143: Pirates (6-4) at Cardinals (7-3)

The Cardinals are starting to put some games between them and the rest of the division.  They are taken the first two games of this sereis and a sweep will them a 2 game lead.  They will ask Bob Forsch to make the lead bigger and The Pirates look to Jose DeLeon , who has an 18 inning scoreless streak going to stop them.

Both pitchers were amazing today they matched up well but the Cardinals got to DeLeon in the 2nd as Pendleton ends DeLeons scoreless streak at 19.1 innings with a 2 run Homer to make it 2-0.  DeLeon starts another streak as he starts with 4.2 innings of no hit ball, but the damage was done.

Forsch would end up tossing a 6 hit shutout while striking out 7 to get his 2nd win of the season.
