April 29, 1985 Game 233: Indians (8-10) at Royals (6-11)

The Royals have lost 7 in a row and they look to Bret Saberhagen to stop the streak.  The Indians have played above expectations and they send their ace Neal Heaton to the hill.

The Indians Attack first in the first.  Butler and Franco walk, Carter singles to load the bases.  Tabler steps up and delivers a SACFLY to right scoring Butler.  Jacoby singles with 2-outs and Franco scores.  Castillo follows with a double scoring Carter and the Indians are up 3-0.  In the bottom half of the inning the Royals strike back.  Wilson singles and steals 2nd, McRae singles scoring Wilson.  Balboni hits a 2-out 2 run homer to tie the score at 3.

The Indians take the lead in the 6th. Thornton is on 2nd due to an error on Wilson.  Castillo doubles with 2-outs and Thornton scores.  Williard gets to 2nd due to an error on Biancalana and Castillo scores for a 5-3 lead.  They will add one more in the 8th to put the game away.  Jacoby and Castillo both single with 2-outs.  Williard walks to load the bases.  Bernazard then draws a walk to force home Jacoby and the Indians lead it 6-3.  Waddell pitches the 9th to pick up his 4th save.
