May 1, 1985 Game 249: White Sox (9-8) at Orioles (5-14)

The White Sox are trying to make sure that the Angles aren't the only respectable team in the West as the take on the floundering Baltimore Orioles.  Today the Orioles will send Scott McGregor to the mounad and he has been the only Oriole pitcher that has had any success.  The White Sox send Gene Nelson to the hill.

It was a pitchers duel up until the 6th when both teams were able to get some runs.  The White Sox get the scoring started, Guillen singles and would score on a Law single that would also become a 2BE on Young and Law would make it to 3rd and the White Sox are up 1-0.  The Orioles answer right back though.  Lynn walks, Young is safe at 2nd on a 2BE on Cruz.  Connally singles scoring both runners. Dempsey singles and Sheets walks to load the bases.  Wiggins hits a SACFLY to right and Connally scores to make it 3-1 Orioles.

In the 6th the Orioles would add to their lead.  Wiggins doubles, Ripken singles him home.  Murray then hits his 4th home run of the season, this one is a 2 run bomb and the Orioles are up 6-1.  In the 9th Baines hits his 6th of the year but it is not enough and the Orioles win.

The Final Score 6-2 Orioles
