May 5, 1985 Game 291: Brewers (14-9) at Angels (15-10)

There was a buzz in the air around Angels Stadium today and I couldn't place my finger on why.  It certainly could not be about this game.  Yesterdays was a laugher and the the Angels are playing some of the most mind boggling baseball and the Brewers are playing above expectations.  The Angels start Kirk McCaskill today and he would face one of the Brewer pitchers that is having one of the best starts of his career. Moose Haas.

The Brewers start the game off right as Molitor hits a lead off homerun to give the them a 1-0 lead.  The Angels bounce right back in the bottom of the 1st when Jones hits a bases loaded single that would score Carew and DeCinces and the Angels are up 2-1.

In the 4th Gantner would give the Brewers the lead for good as he hits a 2 run homer and the Brewers have a 3-2 lead.  These two pitchers would battle it out for the rest of the game as they were stingy on giving up hits.  But in the end Haas made less mistakes.

The Final Score 3-2 Brewers
