May 5, 1985 Game 292: Expos (10-13) at Braves (9-13)

The Braves took a pounding today as the Expos would rap out 19 hits and took a big lead early.  Steve Bedrosian got the start for the Braves and Bill Gullickson for the Expos.

It all started in the 1st when Dawson hits his 8th homer of the season and the Expos lead 1-0.  The Braves bounce back and take a 3-1 lead in the bottom half of the inning.  With runners on 2nd and 3rd Perry hits a SACFLY to left scoring Komminsk.  Murphy would then add a 2 run homer his 7th and the Braves are in the drivers seat.

That lead would not last as the Expos score 5 in the 2nd. Winningham singles scoring Brooks, Fitzgerazld singles scoring Wallach.  Raines doubles scoring Winningham.  Dawson delivers a bases loaded single scoring 2 more and it is now a 6-3 Expos lead.

The Expos add to their lead in the 5th.  Wallach is on 1st and would score on Winningham's triple to make it 7-3.  They would then put this one out of reach in the 7th.  Gullickson helps his own cause by singling with the baseloaded scoring 2.  Raines would follow with a single of his own scoring another run and it is now 10-3.  Gullickson would pitch 8 solid innings and Gary Lucas pitches the 9th to close out the game
