May 8, 1985 Game 320: Angels (15-12) at Red Sox (17-9)

The Red Sox have won 5 in a row and are just a game back of the Blue Jays.  Today they would send Bob Ojeda to the hill in hopes of keeping the winning streak going.  The Angles are looking to widen their gap on first place and will send Ron Romanick out to face Jim Rice and this potent Red Sox lineup.

in the 4th the Red Sox take the lead on Easler 2 run homer off Romanick and the Red Sox lead it 2-0.  In the 6th the Angels tie it up.  They had runners on 2nd and 3rd when Jones singles scoring DeCinces and Boone follows with a single scoring Jackson.

In the 8th Downing singles and advances to 2nd on a wild pitch, Jones follows with a double scoring Downing.  Boone then bounces out to 2nd but that allows Jones to score and it is now a 4-2 Angles lead.  They Angels would add an insurance run in the 9th.  DeCinces hits a solo homer off of Trujillo to give the Angels a 5-2 lead.

The Final Score 5-2 Angels
