May 8, 1985 Game 329: Pirates (11-13) at Padres (14-11)

The Padres are taking on the Pirates at Jack Murphy Stadium today and these 2 teams are heading in opposite directions.  The Padres are currently ties for 1st with the Reds and the Pirates are slowly headed to the 2nd division.  Today the Padres would start Dave Dravecky and he would toss a gem.  Lee Tunnell would start for the Pirates and he was solid except for some mistakes in the 4th.

In the 3rd Flannery delivers a 1-out single that would score Dravecky and give the Padres a 1-0 lead.  In the 4th is where they would cash in,  Kennedy draws a bases loaded walk that would force home McReynolds.  Templeton singles scoring Bevacqua.  Flannery hits a SACFLY to center scoring Martinez and the Padres now lead 4-0.

Dravecky was the big story today as he would toss a 2 hitter.  Tony Pena would single twice off of the lefthander.  He was able to keep the Pirates guessing all day as he racked up 7 strikeouts and walked no one.

The Final Score 4-0 Padres
