May 10, 1985 Game 338: A's (12-16) at Red Sox (17-10)

The Red Sox hosted the A's at Fenway today and the streaking Red Sox look to make quick work of the walk machine Tim Birtsas.  The Red Sox will start Oil Can Boyd who can't seem to get a grasp on this season.

The A's strike quickly in the 2nd as Canseco lifts a 3 rum bomb off of Boyd and the A's have a 3-0 lead.  In the 7th the A's make it 4-0 when Gallego leads off with a triple.  2-outs later Lansford singles scoring him.

The Red Sox mount a comebak in the bottom of the 7th.  Armas delivers a 1-out bases loaded single that scores Gutierrez and Evans.  Easler then lofts a SACFLY to right Rice tags up and scores to make it 4-3.  Howell works the 9th and picks up his 7th save.
