May 11, 1985 Game 361: Mariners (11-18) at Blue Jays (18-10)

It was a wild a crazy day at Exhibition Stadium as the Blue Jays played host to the Mariners.  It would be a battle of aces as Dave Stieb took on Mike Moore.  In what was build be a pitchers duel, turned out to be anything but.

In the 1st the Mariners show that they are going on a hitting spree.  Bradley singles and Davis doubles, Thomas hits into a 4-3 FC and Bradley scores.  Calderon singles scoring Davis, Henderson then hits a 2-run homer to make it 4-0 Mariners.  But the Blue Jays are a powerful team and they were not to concede defeat.  In the bottom half of the inning Garcia and Moseby single, Bell singles and Garcia scores.  Barfield walks to load the bases.  Johnson doubles to score Moseby and Bell and that make it 4-3.


In the 2nd the Blue Jays tie it up.  With 2-outs Ball and Barfield single, Johnson then delivers a single that would score Bell and its tied a 4.  In the 4th Presley advances to 3rd on Moseby's error and would score on a Ramos single and it is now 5-4 Mariners.

In the 6th the Mariners take the lead.  Davis hits a 2-out bases loaded single that would score Kearney and Ramos and the Mariners are up 7-4.  The Blue Jays come Charging back in the bottom half of the inning.  With runners on 1st and 2nd Barfield hits a double that would score Moseby, Barfield then starts to take a short lead of 2nd and is tagged out due to the hidden ball trick.  Johnson is then HBP, Upshaw hits a 3u FC and Bell scores,  Whitt then doubles scoring Johnson band this one is tied at 7.

In the 7th The Mariners bust it open.  Calderon and Henderson single, Presley singles scoring Calderon,  Kearney is safe due an E6 and Henderson scores.  Ramos doubles scoring Presley,  Bradley hits into a 6-4-3 double play and Kearney scores.  Davis then singles scoring Ramos and the score is now 12-7 Mariners.  The Blue Jays can't conjure up anymore runs and they have now lost 5 straight.
