May 11, 1985 Game 360: Cardinals (18-10) at Giants (11-17)

The Giants have been a thorn in teams sides this year and it looks like it is the Cardinals turn.  Today the Giants hand the ball to Vida Blue and the Cardinals go with Joaquin Andujar and the Giants would be a thorn tonight.

In the 1st the Cardinals get the scoring started on McGee's 1-out 2 run homer and the Cardinals are up 2-0.  THe Giants answer back in the bottom half of the inning.  Roenicke walks and Leonard hits a 1-out double, Davis walks to load the bases.  Brown singles scoring Roenicke.  Driessen steps up and lifts a SACFLY to left and Leonard scores and we are tied at 2.

The Cardinals take back the lead in the 4th on a Clark solo homer and it is 3-2 Cardinals.  But the Giants fight back in the 6th.  Davis hits a solo homer to tie it up and Driessen hits a 2-run bomb to give the Giants a 5-3 lead.  The Giants add an insurance run in the 8th when Driessen hits his second homer of the game and a 6-3 Giants lead.  Davis closes out the 9th for the win

The Final Score 6-3 Giants
