May 12, 1985 Game 363: Astros (10-19) at Reds (17-12)

It's a beautiful day in Cincinnati as the Reds take on the Astros and it will be a packed house as even the hometown crowd wants to see Nolan Ryan.  The Reds counter with John Stuper and he has been very good thus far.


In the 3rd the Astros get on the board.  They have runners on 1st and 2nd Puhl doubles and Ryan scores.  Cruz  hits a SACFLY to right and Doran scores and the Astros have a 2-0 lead.

They add two more runs in the 5th.  Mumphrey and Cruz single.  Thon then triples scoring both runners and the score is 4-0 Astros.  Then in the 6th with runners and 1st and 2nd and Puhl singles scoring Pankovits,  Mumphrey singles scoring Doran and The Astros lead it 6-0.  Ryan pitches the 9th and gets the complete game shutout.
