May 12, 1985: Game 371: Cubs (15-13) at Padres (16-13)

The Padres take on the pesky Cubs at Jack Murphy Stadium today and it would feature Dave Dravecky against Scott Sanderson.  Both pitchers have been very good for their respective clubs but Dravecky is among the league leaders in ERA and is hoping to shutdown the Cubs offense.

The Cubs get on the board in the 4th on Durham's solo homer and it is 1-0 Cubs.  They would add to their lead in the 7th.  With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Sanderson singles scoring both runners and the Cubs have a 3-0 lead.  In the 9th the Cubs send Sanderson back out to see if he can get the shutout.  But with a runner on and 1-out he serves up a moon shot to Nettles and the lead is now 3-2.  He would get the next two batters and the Cubs win 3-2

The Final Score 3-2 Cubs
