May 14, 1985 Game 391: Cardinals (19-11) at Padres (16-14)

The Padres take on the reeling Cardinals at Jack Murphy today and they had the ball to LaMarr Hoyt and the Cardinals start Danny Cox.  But it would be all Hoyt in this one.

The Padres get a run in the on Bochy's SACFLY to left that scores Nettles and the Padres take a 1-0 lead.  The gane would stay that way until the 7th when the Padres would break this game wide open.

With the bases loaded Flannery singles scoring Bochy and Templeton.  Gwynn singles scoring Hoyt.  Garvey doubles scoring Flannery.  McReynolds bounces into a 4-3 FC scoring Gwynn and it is now 6-0 Padres.  The Cardinals couldn't recover as Hoyt cruises to a shutout.  The Padres were lead by Tim Flannery who was 2-4 with 2 RBI.  The Cardinals were lead by Vince Coleman who went 3-4 with a stolen base.  On a side note Cardinal pitchers did not strike out a single batter.

The Final Score 6-0 Padres
