May 15, 1985 Game 405: Rangers (11-19) at Yankees (16-14)

The Rangers clubhouse was alive after tonight's game as they picked up a much needed win over the Yankees in extra innings.  Pete O'Brien paced the offense with his 2 run homer (7) in the 4th.  But it was Larry Parrish's solo homer (3) in the 10th off of Bob Shirley that would give the Rangers the win.

Dave Stewart gets the win (2-0) in relief.  He pitched 3 scoreless frames for the Rangers while giving up 1 hit and walking 3.  Shirley takes the loss (3-2) as he would give up 2 runs without recording an out.  The Yankees wasted a solid outing by Niekro and those have been rare, as he would go 9 innings , giving 7 hits and 7 walks and striking out 7.

The Final Score 5-3 Rangers
