May 17, 1985 Game 425: Tigers (21-10) at A's (13-20)

The Tigers battered the A's today in a 21-2 victory.  It is the 2nd time in 3 games that the Tigers have scored 20 or more runs. The offense was lead by several players today, lets hope they don't use up all their runs.  But they have been fun to watch.

Alan Trammell went 5-7 with 5 runs and 3 RBI, Lance Parrish went 4-4 with 4 R, and 5 RBI, Larry Herndon went 4-6 wit a run and 2 RBI and last but not least Darryl Evans provided some excitement with a grand Slam in the 8th and he had 6 RBI on the day.

Dan Petry (4-4) picked up the win giving up 2 runs in 7 IP.  Chris Codiroli (1-6) takes the loss.  A's Pitching gave up 22 H and 8 BB and the defense committed 5 errors. The Tigers have out scored their opponents 50-2 in their last 3 games and have now won 9 in a row.
