May 21, 1985 Game 473: Braves (14-23) at Cardinals (22-15)

The Cardinals would hit Len Barker hard in the 1st inning, scoring 3 runs on 4 hits.  But Barker would settle down and only give up 2 hits over the next 5 innings.  He was lifted in the 7th for a pinch hitter.

The Braves couldn't get much going against Bob Forsch.  They got 1 run on a bases loaded single by Brad Komminsk.  They would load the bases again in the 6th against Forsch.  But Whitey Herzog brings in Kurt Kepshire and he gets Glenn Hubbard to bounce into a inning ending doubleplay.  That would be the last chance for the Braves.

Bob Forsch (3-4) is the winner.  Len Barker (3-2) is the loser and Jeff Lahti gets his 8th save.

The Final Score 3-1 Cardinals
