May 21, 1985 Game 472: Yankees (19-16) at Mariners (17-20)

Al Cowens hit a lead off homerun in the bottom of the 14th to give the Mariners a 4-3 win over the Yankees.  It was Cowens' only hit off the day.  He would finish 1-6 with a HR (4) and an RBI.

The Mariners took an early 2-0 on Gorman Thomas' 2 run HR (7) in the 1st.  The Yankees take the lead in the 5th on Don Mattingly's 2 run HR (7).  But that lead wouldn't last long as the Mariners tied it it up in the bottom of the 5th.  That is where the score would stay until Cowens' homerun off of Brian Fisher.

Matt Young (4-3) picks up the win.  Brian Fisher (0-1) takes the loss.  The Mariners have now won 5 in a row.

The Final Score 4-3 Mariners
