Larry Herndon smacked 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Detroit Tigers bested the struggling California Angels 13 to 6 at TIGER STADIUM.

Herndon had a great day at the plate. He had the crowd cheering his every move. He clubbed a three-run home run in the 1st inning, popped a two-run clout over the fence in the 5th inning and lined a one-base hit in the 8th inning. Juan Berenguer earned the save with a perfect ninth, his 1st save.

The winning pitcher was Jack Morris(6-4) who allowed 6 runs in 7 innings. Jim Slaton(2-7) ended up with the loss. He served up 3 homeruns in his 5 innings. 

With the win, Detroit continued their winning ways; their streak now stands at 6 games and counting
