Oddibe McDowell collected 2 extra-base hits and had 2 RBI at ARLINGTON STADIUM where the Texas Rangers beat the Chicago White Sox in 11 innings 5 to 4.

Both teams had scored 4 runs after nine full innings. Texas won the game in the 11th inning. After an out was recorded, Larry Parrish doubled. Dan Spillner then uncorked a pitch that was ruled a passed ball. Glenn Brummer then laced a base-knock making Texas the victors to the delight of the home town faithful. Texas had 14 hits for the game and Chicago had 10. 

Dave Schmidt(1-2) got the win allowing no runs in 2 and 1/3 innings. Spillner(3-1) was tagged with the loss in relief. He pitched 4 and 2/3 innings giving up 7 hits and no walks.
