June 4, 1985: A's (18-32) at Yankees (27-21)

Mike Heath knocked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Oakland Athletics bested the New York Yankees 5 to 3 at YANKEE STADIUM.

The New York fans didn't appreciate the big day Heath had. He ripped a solo home run in the 4th inning and lifted one out of the park for a two run home run in the 8th inning. Oakland managed 8 hits in their victory.

Jose Rijo(6-1) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 8 innings. Jay Howell recorded his 11th save. Joe Cowley(3-4) was the loser. He surrended 3 homeruns in his 7 and 1/3 innings.

'I had a little blister on my index finger before the game, but I thought it was nothing.' Rijo said. 'I was lucky I got a win because I couldn't put the ball where I wanted it.'
