Rick Sutcliffe took a no-hitter into the 6th inning at WRIGLEY FIELD where the Chicago Cubs beat the Atlanta Braves 8 to 3. 

Sutcliffe(7-3) gave Chicago a solid outing. He allowed just 4 hits and 1 walk in 8 and 1/3 innings. The right-handed Sutcliffe lost his chance for a no-hitter when Glenn Hubbard singled with nobody out in the 6th inning. Chicago had 15 hits overall, while Atlanta had 5. 

Len Barker(4-3) was tagged with the loss. He allowed 10 hits and 2 walks in 4 innings.
