June 5, 1985: Braves (20-29) at Cubs (29-19)

The Chicago Cubs tallied 7 runs in the 8th inning and easily topped the Atlanta Braves; the final score was 13 to 6. 

Keith Moreland had a good day at the plate. He lifted one out of the park for a two run home run in the 5th inning and ripped a one-base hit bringing home two baserunners in the 8th inning. Chicago had a total of 12 hits for the game. 

Ray Fontenot(2-2) got credit for the victory, pitching 8 innings and allowing 3 runs. Zane Smith(3-4) was charged with the loss. While he was the losing pitcher, he still struck out 9 batters in 6 innings. 

The Chicago ballclub's record now stands at 29-19. With this loss, Atlanta has a 4-6 record of late, 20-29 overall.
