June 5, 1985: Brewers (23-26) at Royals (31-20)

Danny Darwin went 9 strong innings at ROYALS STADIUM as the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Kansas City Royals 2 to 0. 

Milwaukee erupted with the game winning runs in the 8th inning plating 2 runs using 2 hits. Rick Manning led off and he doubled. Ed Romero stepped up next and he drew a walk. After an out was recorded, Paul Molitor then stroked a single. Kansas City went down quietly in the bottom of the 9th. 

For Darwin(5-5) it was his 2nd shutout this year. The loss was charged to Mark Gubicza(5-4). 'I thought it was my best performance in a long time,' said Darwin. 'I had good command early in the game. I had my control and composure and everything went well.'
