George Bell cracked 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Detroit Tigers by the score of 8 to 5 at EXHIBITION STADIUM. 

Bell was in a groove all evening. He stroked a one-base hit in the 2nd inning, launched a three-run homer in the 3rd inning and clubbed a two-run home run in the 8th inning. Toronto ended up with 10 hits for the game while Detroit had 7. 

Dave Stieb(8-4) went 8 innings allowing 5 runs for the victory. Tom Henke got the save, his 7th. Todd Crane(6-3) ended up with the loss. He was touched for 3 homeruns in his 6 innings of work. 

Toronto now has a record of 31-21. With the loss, Detroit has a record of 7-3 lately, 31-19 overall.
