June 7, 1985: Expos (23-30) at Phillies (20-31)

Joe Hesketh allowed Buck Rodgers to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the Montreal Expos bested the Philadelphia Phillies 7 to 2 at VETERANS STADIUM.

Montreal had 4 runs cross the plate in the 4th inning when they had 5 base hits. The big moment was provided by Andre Dawson who disappointed the partisan crowd when he smashed a two-run homer. Montreal rapped out 9 hits for the night.

The win was credited to Hesketh(5-5) who went the whole way allowing 2 runs. John Denny(6-6) was hit with the loss. He allowed 3 homeruns in 5 and 2/3 innings of work.

Montreal now has a record of 23-30. With the loss, Philadelphia has a record of 5-5 lately, 20-31 overall.
