Moose Haas went 8 strong innings and Cecil Cooper had 2 base hits and 2 RBI at COUNTY STADIUM where the Milwaukee Brewers beat the New York Yankees 7 to 3. 

Milwaukee brought 5 runs across the plate in the 2nd inning when they had 5 base hits. That was all the offense they were to need. Milwaukee had 9 hits for the night while New York had 3. 

Haas(6-4) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 8 innings. Phil Niekro(4-4) ended up with the loss. He got hammered, allowing 9 hits and 7 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings.
