June 7, 1985: Tigers (32-19) at Blue Jays (31-22)

Jack Morris racked up an impressive total of 11 strikeouts and Lance Parrish launched 2 homeruns as the Detroit Tigers bested the Toronto Blue Jays 8 to 1 at EXHIBITION STADIUM.

Parrish enjoyed a big evening at the plate. He smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' in the 4th inning, ripped a base-hit in the 4th inning and clubbed a solo home run in the 6th inning. Detroit finished with 16 hits in the victory.

Morris(7-4) was the winner allowing 1 run for the game. Doyle Alexander(9-2) was tagged with the loss. He served up 4 gopher balls in 3 and 1/3 innings.

'When Morris is on like that it is a tough game to play, no doubt about it,' Bobby Cox said. 'He always pitches well against us.'
