June 13, 1985: Twins (27-30) at Rangers (28-31)

Dickie Noles delivered 9 solid innings as the Texas Rangers topped the Minnesota Twins by a score of 8 to 1 at ARLINGTON STADIUM.

Texas drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning scoring 2 runs utilizing 2 base hits. After two were out Pete O'Brien started the rally when he lined a single. Larry Parrish followed and he popped a two-run clout over the fence. That was all Noles(4-4) needed. Texas rapped out 10 hits for the night.

Frank Viola(6-7) was hit with the loss. 'Noles gave us exactly what we needed tonight.' Bobby Valentine said. 'When he threw the fastball he threw it for strikes. They were really fooled by his change. Most of the time he had them chasing it.'
