June 14, 1985: Phillies (21-37) at Pirates (23-34)

In a game at THREE RIVERS STADIUM the Pittsburgh Pirates got by the Philadelphia Phillies by the score of 5 to 2. 

Johnny Ray made sure the Pittsburgh fans enjoyed themselves. He lashed a single in the 1st inning and emptied the bases with a Grand Slam homerun in the 4th inning. Pittsburgh rapped out 7 hits for the night. 

Jose Deleon(4-8) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 innings and allowing 2 runs. Cecilio Guante was credited with his 7th save. Shane Rawley(3-9) absorbed the loss. He allowed 7 hits and 4 walks in 6 innings. 

The Pittsburgh ballclub's record now stands at 23-34. John Felske was pretty down after the loss. 'We've really been sputtering along lately, something like 1-9 in the last week or two. That won't get it done.'
