Oddibe McDowell slammed 3 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Texas Rangers defeated the Minnesota Twins in 10 innings by the score of 10 to 9 at ARLINGTON STADIUM. 

Both teams were tied at 9 runs apiece after nine innings. Finally, Texas prevailed in the 10th inning. Don Slaught doubled. After an out was recorded, Wayne Tolleson came to the plate and lined a single resulting in a mighty exciting win for Texas and the 29,809 home town fans in attendance. Texas banged out 13 hits on the night. 

The win was credited to Mike Mason(5-5) who went 1 inning allowing no runs. Ken Schrom(5-1) was hit with the loss in relief.
