June 15, 1985: Blue Jays (37-24) at Red Sox (36-24)

Jesse Barfield jacked one out of the ballyard and had 3 RBI at FENWAY PARK as the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Boston Red Sox 6 to 4.

Boston was unable to climb back into it after Toronto went ahead for good in the top of the 5th inning when they tallied 2 runs on 1 hit. The highlight belonged to Barfield who deflated the mood of the partisan fans when he stroked a base-hit scoring two baserunners. Toronto had 8 hits for the afternoon.

The victory was credited to Doyle Alexander(10-3) who went 7 innings, allowing 4 runs. Alexander got help from Tom Henke who was credited with his 9th save. Al Nipper(3-4) was the loser. He served up 3 gopher balls in 6 and 1/3 innings.
