The victory was credited to Steve Trout(8-4) who went 8 and 1/3 innings, allowing 1 run. Lee Smith preserved the game for Trout, recording his his 17th save. John Tudor(8-3) was charged with the loss. He allowed 4 runs and 8 hits in 6 innings.
