Chili Davis went deep and had 4 RBI as the San Francisco Giants outscored the Cincinnati Reds 9 to 1. 

It was a good day for San Francisco thanks to Davis. He bombed a two-run dinger in the 1st inning and doubled which was good for two runs in the 4th inning. San Francisco had 13 hits for the game and Cincinnati had 5. 

Jim Gott(6-3) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 innings and allowing 1 run. Mark Davis preserved the game for Gott, recording his his 10th save. Mario Soto(9-5) absorbed the loss. He allowed San Francisco 9 runs in 3 and 2/3 innings of work.
