The Oakland Athletics defeated the Chicago White Sox by a score of 7 to 4 at COMISKEY PARK. 

Jose Rijo(9-1) had a solid outing for Oakland. He went 8 innings allowing 9 hits and 3 walks. Chicago was out-hit by Oakland, 14 hits to 10. 

Rijo got help from Jay Howell who was credited with his 14th save. Joel Davis(1-2) was hit with the loss. His ERA ballooned from 3.22 to 3.95 as he allowed 5 runs in 5 innings.
