Mike Brown had 2 base hits as the Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Montreal Expos by a score of 6 to 2 at OLYMPIC STADIUM. 

Pittsburgh drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning when they came up with 4 runs on 2 hits. The early run support proved sufficient for Jose Deleon(5-8) and Pittsburgh. That was all the run support Deleon required. Pittsburgh finished with just 5 hits in the victory. 

David Palmer(3-8) ended up with the loss. With this win, Pittsburgh has a 25-36 record. They have been 4-6 lately. With the loss Montreal now has a record of 29-35.
