Cal Ripken had 3 base hits and 2 RBI as the Baltimore Orioles defeated the New York Yankees by a score of 10 to 5 at MEMORIAL STADIUM. 

Baltimore wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning as they scored 2 runs on 3 base hits. Both teams totaled 12 hits on the night. 

Dennis Martinez(8-4) went 5 innings allowing 4 runs for the victory. Nate Snell recorded his 1st save. Ed Whitson(6-6) took the loss. He gave up 5 runs in 4 and 1/3 innings of work.
