June 20, 1985: Cubs (36-27) at Mets (40-24)

Gary Carter smacked a homer and had 3 RBI as the New York Mets defeated the Chicago Cubs by a score of 11 to 6 at SHEA STADIUM. 

Carter had a big day at the plate. He doubled which plated a run in the 3rd inning, clubbed a solo home run in the 5th inning and laced a base-knock resulting in a run in the 8th inning. New York finished with 17 hits while Chicago ended up with 11. 

Doug Sisk(1-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 2/3 of an inning and allowing no runs. Rick Aguilera got the save, his 2nd. Ray Fontenot(3-5) absorbed the loss. New York knocked him around a bit, as he gave up 7 runs in 5 and 1/3 innings.
