June 21, 1985: Cubs (37-27) at Cardinals (39-26)

Third baseman Ron Cey had 4 hits and 3 RBI at BUSCH STADIUM where the Chicago Cubs beat the St. Louis Cardinals by the score of 10 to 8.

Cey provided the offensive punch. He lashed a single in the 2nd inning, banged out a one-base hit in the 4th inning, ripped a single scoring a run in the 5th inning and blasted a two-run home run in the 6th inning. St. Louis threatened in the 9th but Chicago was able to put down the rally.

Steve Trout(9-4) got credit for the victory, pitching 5 and 2/3 innings and allowing 6 runs. The loss was charged to Joaquin Andujar(4-7). He was not very effective, surrendering 8 runs in 5 innings.

"I struggled a bit out there tonight," Trout said, "but I toughed it out and we got the win."
