They almost ran out of baseballs at OAKLAND COLISEUM as Cleveland Indians clobbered the Oakland Athletics pitching staff, scoring 12 runs while Ramon Romero(4-1), with relief help from Vern Ruhle, allowed Oakland 4 runs. 

Romero delivered a fine performance for Cleveland. He was reached for 3 hits and 2 walks in 5 innings. For the game Cleveland out-hit Oakland 19 to 10. 

Ruhle preserved the game for Romero, recording his his 1st save. The losing pitcher was Chris Codiroli(3-8). He got hammered, allowing 10 hits and 4 walks in 4 innings.
