Hershiser(8-6) escaped virtually unscathed against the Houston hitters. He allowed just 5 hits and 2 walks in 9 innings seeing his ERA drop from 3.32 to 3.06. After the 2nd inning, neither team was able to score.
Nolan Ryan(8-7) was given the loss. 'Everything felt great' Hershiser said. "I had a good fastball, I felt I could throw it by everybody tonight."
